Background and experience

Laura holds a PhD in Social Innovation from the University of Cambridge, with a research year spent at Stanford University. Her work focused and still focuses on how organizations can create measurable impact and drive positive change. She has advised blue-chip companies, start-ups, and VC funds, and previously helped scale a second-hand vintage fashion start-up as its Chief Operating and Chief Sustainability Officer.

A passion for performance

A former Top 10 tennis player in Germany, she earned a tennis scholarship to the University of San Diego in California, where she played tennis at the highest collegiate level in the USA while triple-majoring in Psychological Science, Finance, and Business Administration. While captaining the NCAA Division I tennis team, she led the team to a West Coast Conference title and achieved a Top 15 national ranking in the United States.

Having lived, studied, and worked across Europe, the United States, and South East Asia, Laura brings an international perspective to impact and business strategy. She is keen to help organizations translate ambitious ideas into measurable results for business, society, and the planet.

Across 12 years and four disciplines, Felix has pursued one unifying mission: to build outcomes that are great for business and even better for the world.

2014 | Theory

Felix's passion for impact investing got ignited during the writing of an academic thesis in collaboration with Paul Brest of Stanford and leading impact investors in Monaco. It gave him a clear true north and the start of a lifelong journey to put theory into practice.

2015 | Product building

As an Analyst at a private debt fund investing in hospital expansions, Felix designed and launched "Cash Advance" with a local FinTech start-up: a fully automated mobile loan product that gave clinics instant access to cash when health insurer payment delays created a funding gap. It rapidly scaled to disburse over €100M to thousands of clinics, with repayment rates exceeding 90%.

2016 | Private equity

That experience led Felix to IFHA, a Dutch private equity and venture capital fund focused on healthcare, where he built the foundation of his investment career:

• Sourced hundreds of pipeline deals, converting €100M+ into impact investments
• Owned fundraise process of one of Africa's largest VC rounds to date (€39M Series A)
• Managed all ESG matters, from due diligence to investor reporting

2019 | Start-up

After helping to raise CarePay's Series A round, Felix joined the company, which uses mobile technology to bring health insurance to the uninsured in emerging markets. He worked closely with the CEO to establish its international head office operations and board, long-term strategy, strategic partnerships and multiple new product lines.

2022 | Back to PE

Felix came back to IFHA as Investment Manager and:

• Served on the boards of portfolio companies with combined revenues of €100M+
• Drove fund strategy-building, exits and fundraisings
• Improved fund operational efficiency by 40% through process automation

2025 | Consulting

After a journey across impact investing, company building, and launching tech products, Felix co-founded Carbon&Lime with a simple goal: to put everything he has learned in service of the companies and funds that are serious about building outcomes that are great for business and even better for the world.
